Douglas County offers $20,000 in Rebates through Insulate Colorado Program

Maximum of $300 per Qualified Homeowner

Douglas County is partnering with the Governor’s Energy Office (GEO) to bring qualified Douglas County homeowners a total of $20,000 in rebates through the Insulate Colorado program.

Douglas County applied for Insulate Colorado through the GEO and was awarded $10,000, which Douglas County matched creating a total of $20,000 in rebates. Qualified homeowners can apply for a rebate of 20 percent off the cost of installation of either attic or exterior wall insulation and basic recommended air sealing measures, or $300 maximum per home, whichever is less through the Insulate Colorado program.

Rebates are available on a first-come, first-served basis until funds are exhausted and will only be issued to homeowners who meet all of the qualifications. A rebate will not be given for new construction and homeowners must use an eligible contractor who has had the GEO program training. Please verify that your contractor has investigated the local permitting requirements for insulation installation. Copies of all contractor invoices and official insulation cards must be submitted with the Homeowner Rebate Request Form.

“This is the perfect opportunity for residents to save money on their energy conservation improvements,” said Commissioner Steve Boand.

This program benefits Douglas County homeowners (including owners of town homes and condos) in both incorporated and unincorporated areas. Proper insulation is an important factor in saving energy when keeping homes cool in the summer and warm in the winter, and saving energy is an important part of Douglas County’s efforts toward becoming more “green.”
