Over the Counter Tenant Finish Permits
Over-the-Counter Tenant Finish Permits Now Available
Businesses and contractors completing Tenant Finish projects can save time and money with Douglas County’s new Over-the-Counter (OTC) permits offered Tuesday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Apply for an OTC permit at Douglas County’s Building Division located in the garden level of the Douglas County Philip S. Miller building at 100 Third St. in Castle Rock.
To utilize this new process, customers are asked to download and complete the required forms available online at www.douglas.co.us/community/building/Apply_For_Permits-Tenant_Finish.html prior to visiting the Building Division. The required forms include: Tenant Finish check list, a Douglas County Building Permit application, two sets of construction plans, Fire Department approval, Tri-County Health Department approval if applicable, and the Disclosure – Notice of Zoning Review form.
Typical Tenant Finish Permit applications require three to five days to turn around, whereas this new OTC method receives an immediate response resulting in contractors turning jobs around quicker and businesses opening sooner.
The Building Division will determine on a plan-specific basis whether or not a permit may be issued via the OTC method. Some applications may require additional review by the Planning Division and may prevent an OTC issuance as additional examination time may be needed.
For more information, please contact the Building Division at 303.660.7497.
