Virtual Display Case
County Upgrades Online Meetings and Agendas Presence
Viewing the contents of Douglas County’s official Public Notice Display Case no longer requires a trip to Castle Rock.
Douglas County has added a new online tool to its Meetings and Agendas Web page – a Virtual Public Notice Display Case – for those who want to access official meetings and agendas postings, but want the convenience of an online version.
The County recently launched its Virtual Public Notice Display Case which can be accessed from the County’s Web site home page. The virtual case duplicates the information that can simultaneously be found in the official display case located on the exterior of the Philip S. Miller Building in Castle Rock.
“This display case has been the designated posting place for all meetings and agendas since the Miller Building was opened in 1997,” said County Commissioner Steve Boand. “While posting meetings and agendas in a public place is statutory, we wanted to create convenience and promote transparency by taking it to the next logical step with an online presence as well,” he said.
“In an effort to make things even easier for citizens, the County has an automated e-mail subscription service with a category specifically for meetings and agendas,” added County Commissioner Jack Hilbert, Chair of the Board, Douglas County Commissioners. “For those who want to receive an e-mail notification each time a meeting agenda has been posted, it’s as simple as clicking on the subscription service button located on the top right corner of the County’s Meetings and Agenda’s page.”
Every year, as part of its statutory requirements, Douglas County is required to pass a resolution designating an official public place for the posting of public notices.
