County Seeks Citizen “Pothole Patrol”

In an effort to identify and fill potholes more rapidly, Douglas County road and bridge staff seeks citizen assistance with the reporting of potholes on County streets and roads. Location of the pothole can be reported by intersection or an approximate location on a County street or road.

To report a pothole call 303.660.7480, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., submit a report online by using citizenConnect at www.douglas.co.us, or e-mail a pothole location to pwoperations@douglas.co.us.

Potholes occur when water permeates the pavement and softens the soil beneath it, creating a depression in the surface of the street. Because freeze/thaw cycles accelerate the process, many potholes surface during the winter and spring months.
