Hilbert Appointed as Chair of Board of Douglas County Commissioners


Douglas County Commissioner Jack Hilbert has been appointed Chair of the Douglas County Board of Commissioners. His term as Board Chair runs through December of 2009.

Mr. Hilbert brings a variety of personal, professional and political experiences to his role as Chairman. He has 35 years of experience in leadership positions in the private sector and corporate enterprise. Prior to induction as Commissioner, he served as Global Capture Manager for Avaya, Inc. Hilbert studied Behavioral Sciences at the University of Southern Colorado; Theology at Drew University; Business at the University of Phoenix; Project Management Professional at George Washington University and Technology at Ball State University. He holds certifications in Project Management, Finance for Professionals and Executives; Avaya Certified-Associate-Communication Networking; Hotel Master Supplier and Retail Industry Management.

Hilbert also served in the U.S. Army in 1971 when he was drafted. Later he enlisted to serve three years in Washington D.C.

A native Coloradan, Hilbert was born and raised on a farm in Pueblo.

“Those work ethics and family values forged my heart and soul and have served me well all my life,” said Hilbert. “I always applied a ‘work hard ethic’ and a ‘teaming’ spirit with a desire to serve.”

Hilbert now resides in Parker with his wife, Pat, of 35 years. They have two sons, Jack II and Jassen. Hilbert has been very involved in the community in a variety of capacities including: serving on boards, committees and commissions; being a member of the Republican party; church; hobbies such as golf, ATV riding, hunting, fishing and shooting; as well as other organizations such as Elks-BPOE #90 for 25 years, American Legion Post 211, Optimists Clubs, Rotary Club and others.
