Louviers Bridge Replacement Project
Douglas County Road 16 (Main Street) Over Plum Creek Bridge Replacement Project
The proposed bridge replacement project is located at the crossing of Douglas County Road 16 (Main Street) and Plum Creek in Louviers. Louviers is located approximately seven miles south of the C-470/US 85 interchange along US 85. Main Street is the north access into Louviers. The latest bridge inspection report (February 2007) recommends that the existing bridge, which was constructed in 1955, be considered for replacement.
Douglas County hosted a Public Open House on March 24, 2009 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Louviers Clubhouse. The purpose of the Public Open House was to discuss the proposed bridge replacement project, the project limits, condition of existing bridge, environmental permits, design schedule and anticipated construction schedule. Approximately 25 citizens attended the Public Open House. Exhibits that were displayed can be viewed below.
In December 2008, the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) passed a resolution adopting the 2009 County budget. As part of the 2009 County Budget, approximately $1.4 million is allocated for the design and construction of this bridge replacement project. Engineering staff is anticipating presenting an agenda item to the BOCC on March 31, 2009 in order to award a contract to AECOM USA, Inc. for preliminary and final design of the proposed bridge.
Please see the information below which contains the the February 2007 bridge report and the Public Open House notice that will be sent out to Louviers residents.
