County Solicits Public Input on CDBG 2009 Annual Action Plan

Douglas County residents, service providers and non-profit organizations are invited to attend any of three public open houses to provide input on the proposed allocations for the 2009 Annual Action Plan, which is part of the Douglas County Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program.  The County anticipates receiving approximately $1 million to assist qualified individuals and families with housing, economic development and community service needs.

Open houses will be held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the following locations:  Wednesday, April 22 at the Roxborough Library, 8357 N. Rampart Range Rd., Suite 200 in Littleton; Tuesday, April 28 at the Parker Library, 10851 S. Crossroads Dr. in Parker; and Wednesday, April 29 at the Douglas County Philip S. Miller Building, 100 Third St. in Castle Rock.

Input will also be requested on the draft priorities and objectives identified in the 2009-2013 Consolidated Plan, which identifies long-term effective community development strategies and priorities in response to the needs and goals of the community.  Information will be available on Fair Housing Month which is in April.

For those who are unable to attend an open house and would like to provide input, the 2009 Annual Action Plan and 2009-2013 Consolidated Plan will be available online at www.douglas.co.us/CDBG after May 14 for a 30-day comment period.  Please e-mail any comments regarding these plans by June 14 to Jennifer Eby, CDBG administrator, at jeby@douglas.co.us or call her at 303-660-7460.
