Marriage License fees increase July 1

June 18th, 2009

Effective July 1, the cost of a Marriage License will increase to $30.00, the result of Senate Bill 09-068, which requires a $20.00 fee from the license applicant be collected for the Colorado Domestic Abuse Program Fund (CDAPF).

The CDAPF encourages the development and maintenance of domestic abuse programs by non-governmental agencies and units of local government.  Funds contributed to the CDAPF go to support services at local, community-based domestic abuse programs and ensure that services to victims of domestic abuse and their children are readily available throughout Colorado.

A Marriage License can be obtained from the Douglas County Clerk and Recorder’s office, 301 Wilcox Street, Castle Rock between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., or from the branch Motor Vehicle offices in Highlands Ranch located at Wildcat Reserve Shopping Center 2223 W Wildcat Reserve Pkwy, Unit G-1, Littleton; and the Parker location, Keystone Shopping Center, 16522 Keystone Blvd, Unit F,  from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Cash or credit cards only are accepted for a Marriage License effective July 1, 2009. An additional fee of 2.7% will be assessed for credit card payments.
