2009-2010 Developmental Disabilities Grants benefit 14 programs

More than $226,000.00 has been awarded to fourteen (14) organizations whose work will directly benefit Douglas County citizens with developmental disabilities and their families. The awards are the result of the 2009-2010 Developmental Disabilities Mill Levy Grant application and review process.

A committee of citizens, parents, Developmental Pathways employees, and County employees reviewed the grant applications for 2009-2010 and recommended the following organizations receive funds: The ARC of Arapahoe and Douglas; Cresthill  Middle School; Disability Center for Independent Living (DCIL); Douglas County Young Life; Easter Seals; Highlands Ranch Community Association Therapeutic Recreation Program; Kids Mobility Network, Inc.; Mountain Vista Middle School; New Day in Home Support and Respite Services – Explorer Program; New Day in Home Support and Respite Services – Respite; New Day in Home Support and Respite Services – Recreation/Day Program; Town of Parker – Recreation Program; Sky Cliff Center; and To The Rescue.

The County distributes 94.5% of the mill levy funds to Developmental Pathways, Inc., which is the state designated Community Centered Board for Douglas County. The remaining 5.5% is retained by the County to distribute through the annual competitive grant process.
