Residents Needed for Liquor Licensing Authority

The Douglas County Commissioners invite citizens to serve on a newly established Local Liquor Licensing Authority responsible for reviewing, issuing and regulating beer and liquor licenses in the unincorporated areas of Douglas County.

Three citizens and three alternates will be appointed, one from each commissioner district.  Initial terms will be staggered to expire 2012, 2013 and 2014. Terms thereafter will be four years.  Meetings will be held monthly, or as needed.

Applicants interested: must be a resident of unincorporated Douglas County; cannot be a member of a law enforcement agency or have an interest in any liquor license; have no record of alcohol related violations; must have experience with or knowledge of the Colorado Liquor Code, or will be required to attend training provided by State Liquor Enforcement; and have experience with the conduct of administrative hearings.
