Tri-County Board of Health Seeks Highlands Ranch Board Member
The Tri-County Board of Health seeks applications from County Commissioner District III, Highlands Ranch, to fill one Board vacancy. Applications are due by January 15, 2010. Term of service is five years.
“Tri-County Health Department would love to have someone who has experience with public health, either professionally, or as a consumer of public health services,” said Dr. Richard Vogt, Tri-County’s Executive Director.
Qualifications to serve on this board include:
- Interest in improving the health of all citizens of Douglas County.
- Willingness to attend regular Board meetings and some limited special projects (for example, developing relationships with our community partners).
- Willingness to learn the major functions of the department and provide policy guidance as necessary.
- Basic understanding of financial statements and budgets.
- Ability to hire, evaluate and provide direction to the Executive Director.
- Ability to work together as a team member.
- Willingness to advocate for the support of public health at all levels (county, state, private).
- Having high ethical standards in the conduct of their duties.
- Willingness and ability to render a fair and impartial decision on enforcement cases brought before the Board.
