Announcing Resource Fair for Service Providers to financially-stressed families

January 7th, 2010

The Parenting Coalition of Douglas County is sponsoring a resource fair featuring providers who serve families suffering with the impacts of the tough economy, homelessness, and other financial difficulties.  The resource fair is targeted to agencies and service providers who are in contact with families struggling financially. Individual families interested in directly learning about resources are also welcome.

The event, “A Wealth of Resources for Struggling Families,” will be held on January 22, 2010, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at New Hope Presbyterian Church, 2100 W. Meadows Parkway in Castle Rock.

Featured presentations on the topics of medical resources, brief assessment/referral and financial advisement will be held at 1:30 p.m., 2:00 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.

Resource providers from throughout Douglas County and the metro area will host information booths. Organizations that would like to host a booth – AT NO COST – can make reservations through the Youth Initiative at 303.688.4825, x5327, or cturner@douglas.co.us.

The Douglas County Parenting Coalition is a project of the Douglas County Youth Initiative, founded in 2005 as an outcome of a community planning process led by the Partnership of Douglas County Governments. The Youth Initiative is a collaborative project between Douglas County government, the Douglas County School District, the City of Lone Tree, the Town of Castle Rock and the Town of Parker. The Youth Initiative serves the entire County as it strives to achieve a community in which youth are involved, valued, productive, protected and healthy.
