2010 Youth Congress Seeks Youth Delegates Aged 13-19
Featuring keynote address by Jonny 5 & Brer Rabbit of Flobots
Douglas County youth, ages 13 to 19, have an opportunity to become involved as youth delegates at the Douglas County 2010 Youth Congress on Friday, September 24th from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the State Capitol.
Youth Congress is an annual event uniting youth with local and state-level elected officials to work on policy analysis and legislation that affect Douglas County youth and families. Youth learn about the policy analysis process, make connections with the people who represent their interests, and gain confidence that they can affect laws and processes that impact them.

The Youth Congress is an initiative of the Douglas County Youth Initiative, a collaborative undertaking of the Douglas County government, the Douglas County School District, the Library District, the City of Lone Tree, the Town of Castle Rock and the Town of Parker. Its mission is to unite the Douglas County community, including youth, parents, agencies, governments, and schools in a common vision toward a community in which youth are involved, valued, productive, protected and healthy.
