Jill Repella District III Commissioner

Ms. Repella was elected as a Douglas County Commissioner in November of 2008.

As a fifth generation Colorado native and a resident of Highlands Ranch since 1994, she comes from a long line of proud Colorado citizens.

In addition to her responsibilities as a County Commissioner, Ms. Repella will assume responsibilities as an appointee to the following organizations, as a representative of Douglas County: Colorado Counties, Inc. General Government Steering Committee and Taxation and Finance Steering Committee; Denver Regional Council of Governments Board, alternate; Douglas County Housing Authority; Douglas County Youth Initiative; Douglas County Water Resource Authority; e-470 Public Highway Authority; Metro Mayors and Commissioners Youth Award; Southeast Business Partnership; Urban Drainage and Flood Control District.

Over a cumulative total of 25 years, prior to her induction as Commissioner, Jill served in various elected and appointed positions in Douglas County, including Douglas County Planning Commission, Planning Commissioner; Douglas County School District, Board of Education; Highlands Ranch Metropolitan Districts, Board of Directors; Open Space Advisory Committee, member; Douglas County Housing Partnership, Board of Directors; and the School District’s representative on The Partnership of Douglas County Governments.

During her time as a community volunteer, Jill listened to thousands of citizens in hundreds of public hearings and community meetings across the entire county, during which time she gained perspective on the values of Douglas County citizens as well as respect for the lifestyle diversity found in this uniquely rural and urban County.

Among the policy priorities about which Jill has the most passion and commitment is economic development.  She believes it is a fundamental role of government to facilitate and maintain a fertile environment for business – an environment in which jobs can be created that will in turn create economic well-being and quality of life for the County’s citizens.

Jill has extensive knowledge and experience in the field of Architectural Design, Construction, Project Management and Business with more than 12 years professional experience in commercial space planning and architecture.

She received her Masters of Professional Studies, Organizational Leadership and Executive Leadership from the University of Denver; attended the University of Colorado at Denver, School of Architecture and received her Bachelor of Science in Environmental Design and Industrial Construction Management from Colorado State University.

Jill and her family are actively engaged in many sport, education, church and community activities.
